A 200-hour Yoga Alliance yoga teacher training course is a pre-requisite for students interested in enrolling in the 300-hour advanced level certification.
Yoga Teacher Training Curriculum
La Colmena Collective offers a unique opportunity to complete your 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training through a hybrid experience. Get the convenience AND the adventure! Combine online learning with an in-person immersion. First, join a big online community of students and then meet an intimate group of classmates during an on-site immersion. Please note that the program cost does not include airfare, housing or meals for the immersion part, as these depend on the location. CYA graduates are amongst the world’s most well-prepared foundational-level teachers!

Our Foundational YTT is comprised of 4 modules
​​Module #1 - Ganesha
Recognizing obstacles, setting foundations and intention. We're at the threshold of our experience! Broad strokes. Dive into History and foundational philosophies. Start work in self-empowerment, and begin to learn foundational sequences and teaching skills.
​​Module #2 - Hanuman
Finding our Bhakti practice and Devotion, Yama & Niyama, Remembrance of Inner Divinity, Taking Leaps of Faith, Lengthening our Stride. Experience ceremony. Dive into Subtle Energetics plus Anatomy and Biomechanics. Start to explore the art of safe sequencing.
​​Module #3 - Shiva & Shakti
Duality and Paradox. Becoming the teacher while remaining the student. Taking all of the individual pieces into one quality whole! Design and teach full length classes. Participate in feedback forums. Start to dive into the finer details and nuance of teaching yoga.
​Module #4 - Durga & Kali
Completion, play, fierceness, celebration. Finding your Warrior’s Voice. Taking your yoga out into the world. A sense of victory. Teach full length classes and explore your future plans for working in the wellness field. Write a bio and class description, carve our your niche.

82 Hours ABOVE the current Yoga Alliance Standards
At La Colmena, our students receive 82 contact hours of instruction above and beyond the 200 hour Yoga Alliance Standard for the foundational level certification. Did you know that the YA only requires 180 contact hours for qualification? We believe that our attention to detail and commitment to provide a truly thorough foundation allows for our graduating teachers to begin their journey in the field educated, prepared and after having participated in LOTS of practice. La Colmena offers recognition of 250 hours of foundational training on our certificate.

Our Foundational Level Yoga Teacher Training is best suited for several types of seekers:

Dedicated Yoga Students who have a desire to deepen their yogic studies beyond what is possible in the public or private class environment. Those who are simply seeking to deepen their studentship.

Counselors or therapists who wish to be able to incorporate yogic tools, mindfulness and meditation into their sessions

Current Yoga Teachers who do not feel equipped to teach publicly following their original yoga teacher training or who simply wish to deepen their pre-existing skills

Those with a strong desire to learn the fundamentals of sharing yoga with the intent to pass on the teachings in public or private class settings.

Teachers of any medium who wish to incorporate yogic tools, mindfulness and meditation into their sessions​​

During the online portion of the hybrid program students will receive:
